The Endler Concert series is delighted to host the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Bernhard Gueller Friday 8 April at 8pm in the Endler Hall, Stellenbosch.

A wizard of the keyboard, Antonio Pompa-Baldi performs Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto. Prizewinner at the 1998 Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud Competition of Paris, France, and silver medal winner at the 2001 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Pompa-Baldi is a much-loved artist on the South African and international classical music scene. His talent has been described as “powered by boundless technical prowess and a genuine love of music.”

Renowned international conductor, Bernhard Gueller is the Principal Guest Conductor of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Music Director Laureate of Symphony Nova Scotia, Canada. Hailed for his extraordinary musicianship and his marvellous ability to communicate with the musicians on stage, Gueller continues to be acclaimed for his profound interpretations and the tension, excitement and drama he brings to the podium.

The concert opens with Beethoven’ Marcia funebre from Symphony No. 3 Eroica and closes with the sublime Brahms Symphony No. 2.

Please keep in mind that for all live events current restrictions allow for 100 audience members in the Endler Hall and all safety protocols outlined by the University will be strictly followed. The CPO’s policy is that all audience members must be vaccinated or in possession of a negative test not older than 48 hours.
