On Tuesday 28 March, at 7:30pm, the Endler Concert Series presents cross-continental jazz ensemble Ensemble Fragile in the Fismer Hall at Stellenbosch University. Ensemble Fragile combines world class musicians from Germany (Patrick Bebelaar – piano) and Italy (Roberto Zechini – guitar and Mike Rossi – saxophone/flute). Ensemble Fragile presents music where the traditional mixes with the unknown and familiar sounds mix with the exotic, as well as a passion for South African Jazz. The many months of the pandemic exposed in extraordinary ways just how fragile our society is – and so it seems more important than ever to bring jazz back to the place in society from which it once emerged: as a lament against oppression and social injustice.

The concert takes place in the Fismer Hall at the Konservatorium building, Stellenbosch University. Tickets for R150 (regular), R110 (pensioners 60 years +) and R50 (students and scholars) are available now through Webtickets and at the door one hour before the concert. For more information contact Fiona Grayer at concerts@sun.ac.za or 021 808 2358.
