| R320As the pre-final production of the 2024 Endler Concert Series, Johan de Villiers conducts two performances of Felix Mendelssohn’s oratorio Elijah on 16 and 17 November. Brittany Smith (soprano), Minette du Toit-Pearce (mezzo-soprano), Siphesihle Mdena (tenor), and Conroy Scott (bass) perform as soloists. Scott also stars in the title role of Elijah, for which he was named Best Performer in a Vocal Classical Music Production at the end of the 2018 Toyota Woordfees.
The choir of more than 100 singers mostly consists of former members of the Libertas Choir, but is also supplemented by other talented choir singers from the Western Cape. The orchestra consists of 45 outstanding instrumentalists with Petri Salonen as concertmaster. The organ accompaniment is performed by Zorada Temmingh.
