The Endler Concert Series presents Handel’s Messiah on Saturday 1 April at 20h00 and Sunday 2 April at 16h30 in the Endler Hall, Stellenbosch. This much loved oratorio will be performed by Canticum Novum together with the University of Stellenbosch Symphony Orchestra (USSO) under the baton of Louis van der Watt.

This years marks the 20th consecutive year that Canticum Novum Choir will be performing sacred works for Choir and Orchestra. Canticum Novum, meaning “New Song”, is a choir specializing in sacred music. It is one of the oldest choirs in South Africa consisting mainly of students and young working people. Canticum Novum is unique in that its repertoire consists exclusively of sacred music.

Some of the University’s best vocal students will be performing the solo roles. Handel’s choral masterpiece has been attracting audiences the world over and is the perfect Easter time pilgrimage. Be sure not to miss this extraordinary feast of young talent and exquisite sacred music.
