Spieëlbeeld/Mirror Image examines the role of music in film by exploring the intricacies between visuals and sound from two distinct perspectives, namely one where the music serves the visual, and one where the visual serves the music. These opposing roles are presented in a showing of two short films: Foto, in which the music serves as score to a traditional narrative in a commercial film, and Oggendgloed/Aandskemering, in which an existing orchestral composition by Jan-Hendrik Harley is visualized by the celebrated landscape artist Strijdom van der Merwe. Foto was originally produced for the 2015 Kyknet Silwerskermfees, while Oggendgloed/Aandskemering, which is more conceptual in nature, will receive its first performance at the 2017 Woordfees.

The performance take place on Friday 10 March at 20h00 in the Endler Hall.
