Fantasia is the theme of this years popular series of lunch hour organ concerts in the Moederkerk, Stellenbosch. Each of the following organists will perform a Fantasia with works by Bach, Pachelbel, Mozart, Liszt and Saint-Saëns. ‘n Fantasia is a single movement work in free form with an improvisatory character.

Three Stellenbosch organists, Zorada Temmingh, Winand Grundling and Mario Nell appear again. Eon Malan and Christopher Petri are bursary winning students of the Stellenbosch University Music Department . Our guest organist is Grant Bräsler from St George’s Cathedral in Cape Town. The following Fantasias can be heard: Eon Malan – Fantasia and Fugue in C minor BWV 537 (Bach); Christopher Petrie – Fantasia in G minor (Pachelbel); Winand Grundling – Fantasia in F minor K 608 (Mozart); Grant Brasler – Fantasia and Fugue on a theme by  B-A-C-H (Liszt); Mario Nell – Fantasia no. 1 in E-flat major (Saint-Saens); Zorada Temmingh – Fantasie Oh, Lord, what a Morning (improvisation).
