Rising Stars, Chris Njapha and Caron Tremble

| R80 – R120The Endler Concert Series is proud to present rising stars Chris Njapha, cello and Caron Tremble, piano.
Sicelo Christopher Njapha graduated with BMus from Stellenbosch University Music Department in 2020, where he studied under the tutelage of Babette Roosenschoon. He was principal cellist of the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and member of the University of Stellenbosch Symphony Orchestra. Chris has recently been awarded with a partial scholarship on his acceptance to the Manhattan School of Music in New York and is due to start in September 2021 where he will study with Marion Feldman.
Caron Tremble is currently a MMus student specialising in Piano Performance at Stellenbosch University under Prof Nina Schumann, having graduated with her BMus degree in 2019. In 2017, she won the Lionel Bowman Beethoven competition and Mabel Quick instrumental prize at Stellenbosch University. In 2019, she participated in Concours International de Piano- Ville de Gagny, France and she also participated in the UNISA National Piano Competition.
Chris and Caron will present masterworks from the cello repertoire including three movements from Bach’s sixth solo suite for cello, a movement from Boccherini’s A major sonata, Shostakovich’s Cello Sonata, Cassado’s solo suite for cello and Paganini’s Variations for cello.
Although Chris was able to receive a partial scholarship for his studies in the USA, there is still a significant amount outstanding that he will need to raise and would welcome your support. The concert will take place on Friday 28 May at 7pm. Tickets for R120 (regular) and R80 (pensioners and students) are available now through Computicket and at the door one hour before the show.
