SAXIT is an easy-going band of musicians – with: Joel Benjamin (soprano/alto sax), Jade de Waal (alto sax), Simon Bates (tenor sax) and Gareth Harvey (baritone sax). For this performance they play repertoire ranging from the upbeat to the melancholy and celebratory. Works include some of their own compositions as well as works by jazz legends Abdullah Ibrahim, Winston Mankunku and Charlie Parker

Jazz is the primary focus but the group has explored other sub genres within jazz and work at incorporating many different musical influences to create music which is vibrant and explores the sonic capabilities of the saxophone. They have been praised for their fantastic musicianship.

The performance take place on Thursday 9 March at 18h00 in the Fismer Hall.
