| R50 – R140The Endler Concert Series presents Schola Cantorum – the academic chamber choir and resident choir of the Department of Music at Stellenbosch University – on Sunday 22 April at 15h00 at the Moederkerk, Stellenbosch.
This choir, which was founded with the primary function of serving as an instrument for postgraduate students in choral conducting at the university, has already attracted international acclaim.
This concert entitled “400 – Choral Music of four centuries” includes works by Monteverdi, Byrd, J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn and Vierne. The choir will be accompanied by organist Diederick Basson.
The choir is led by Martin Berger, former Director of Music at Würzburg Cathedral in Germany and professor at the Robert-Schumann-Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf, who is fast establishing himself in South Africa as a leader in the Choral tradition.
