The Stellenbosch University Chamber Choir (SUCC), conducted by Martin Berger, returns from the 2017 World Youth and Children’s Choir Festival in Hong Kong where they were the invited Artist Choir in Residence from 17 to 22 July 2017.

SUCC was established in 2014 as an integral part of the Stellenbosch University Music Department. The members are music students and experienced choral singers who strive for the very best in vocal ensemble performance.

The innovative programme selected for this Hong Kong tour encompasses South African choral compositions by composers such as Pieter Bezuidenhout, Kristi Boonzaaier and Xander Kritzinger, as well as composers from abroad such as Eric Whitacre and Nils Lindberg. The second half of the programme will present traditional South African arrangements by Michael Barrett as well as a traditional South African medley.
