Stellenbosch University Jazz Band has never failed to captivate audiences, and over the years has gained a reputation for vibrant and energetic performances, the most recent being their concert with Judith Sephuma, Gloria Bosman and Timothy Moloi at Spier during the Woordfees 2017 festival.

On Friday 12 May at 20h00, this band will perform at the Endler Hall, Stellenbosch, as part of the Endler Concert Series. This concert features student vocalists, in well-loved standards such as  Straighten up and fly right, Mack the Knife, and Smoke gets in your eyes. The programme entitled A South African Celebration” also features a celebration of South African Jazz standards, and the compositions and arrangements of Mike Campbell and Darryl Andrews. The band will perform their arrangements of tunes such as Snoektown, Bra Ben, and Sugar Shake. For lovers of swing, there will be melodies like Count Bubba to get the feet tapping.

The concert will feature student vocalists Blain Josephs, Phillip Jordaan, Alex Baven, Kelsey Le Roux and Raefella Migliore, and the talented Unity Mzi from UCT on drums.  The band is conducted by Felicia Lesch.
