The Endler Concert Series celebrates the Youth Concerto Festival on Saturday 19 August at 20h00 in the Endler Hall, Stellenbosch.  Young soloists who successfully auditioned to perform at this festival will play alongside the University of Stellenbosch Symphony Orchestra (USSO) under the baton of Prof. Corvin Matei. The Festival held every 2nd year serves as a launching pad for accomplished classical music instrumentalists and singers in performing with a symphony orchestra.

The soloists are for the evening are Stellenbosch students: Nicole van Wyk (percussion), Lynn Rudolph (viola), Celeste Botha (piano), James George (trombone), Emilio February (marimba), Lusibalwethu Sesanti (voice), Rian Smit (flute), Féroll-Jon Davids (clarinet), Lyle Potgieter (flute), Chris Njapa (cello), Van Wyk Venter (voice), Cameron Williams (clarinet), Kevin Topkin (piano), André Visser and Joshua Frank (oboes).

Works to be performed include one movement from each of the following works: Milhaud’s Concerto pour Batterie et petit Orchestre; Walton’s Viola Concerto; Ravel Piano Concerto; Stephenson Trombone Youth Concerto; Hofmeyr Concerto for Marimba and Orchestra; an aria from Khumalo’s opera Princess Magogo arranged by Peter Klatzow; Roosenschoon To the Tune of…; movements from Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto & Piano Concerto in Eb Major, K482, Borne Fantaisie Brilliante Sur Carmen; Haydn Cello Concerto in C major; Von Weber Clarinet Concerto No. 2; Vivaldi Concerto in D Minor for 2 Oboes.
