Soprano, Lauren Dasappa, tenor, Xander Kritzinger and pianist Hanneke Zwamborn-Basson present evening of Brahms songs that speak of our collective and deepest humanity as well as the première of a collection of 10 of the most beautiful Afrikaans folksongs recently arranged by Xander Kritzinger. Dasappa performs operatic roles in addition to many oratorio and Baroque works, and maintains an extensive concert repertoire, in addition to being currently engaged in creating an awareness of African classical music. Kritzinger is a well-established choir conductor, tenor and composer of vocal music who began his career as a member of the award-winning Drakensberg Boys Choir. Zwamborn-Basson completed her MMus at Stellenbosch University and went on to complete advanced studies at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. She currently teaches music and piano at Stellenbosch High School.
