The Endler Concert Series and KOMPOS are proud to present a performance event on Friday 18 May at 20h00 at the Fismer Hall. KOMPOS is an established project of the composition division that strives to realize performances of student works and open up new music to audiences in an accessible concert environment. Students of the SU composition division have garnered local and international recognition for creative excellence, and this concert promises to be an enjoyable experience.

The programme for this concert features innovative and beautiful new compositions for solo piano performed by Grethe Nothling. Grethe completed a Master’s of Music at the Cleveland Institute of Music (2008) and Doctorate of Musical Arts (2014) at the University of Iowa. She recently moved from Odeion School of Music, University of the Free State, to accept the position of piano lecturer at the SA College of Music at UCT.

This concert will include an informal discussion about the works, and the audience will have the opportunity to enter the thoughts and composition processes of the composers while discovering some of the surprising challenges of performing new music.

Tickets for R60 (regular) and R40 (students and pensioners) are available now through Computicket and at the door one hour before the performance.
