The Stellenbosch University Chamber Choir (SUCC), conducted by Martin Berger, has been invited to be the Artist Choir in Residence at the 12th Cantemus International Choral Festival in Nyíregyháza, Hungary from 16-21 August 2018.

SUCC was established in 2014 as an integral part of the Stellenbosch University Music Department. The members are music students and experienced choral singers who strive for the very best in vocal ensemble performance.

The innovative programme selected for this tour encompasses South African choral compositions by composers such as Sacks Williams, Franco Prinsloo and Le Roux Marais, as well as composers from abroad such as Jake Runestad and Kim André Arnesen. The second half of the programme will present traditional South African arrangements by Michael Barrett as well as a traditional South African medley.

The performance takes place just before they leave on tour in the Endler Hall at 16h30 on Sunday 12 August.

Tickets for R140 (regular) and R100 (students and pensioners) are available now through Computicket and at the door. For more information contact Fiona Grayer at concerts@sun.ac.za or 021 808 2358.
