The Stellenbosch University Jazz Band takes centre stage, conducted by Felicia Lesch and featuring jazz vocal soloists Karen Petersen and Joshua Swanepoel. Newly-appointed lecturer at the music department, Lunathi Ncamini, will also appear on the programme. An exciting addition to the programme is instrumental soloist Feroll-Jon Davids on clarinet, playing the solo in “the Hornet” by Artie Shaw. On the programme are South African favourites such as Ntyilo Ntyilo, Grazin’ in the Grass and jazz standards such as New York New York, At Last, to name but a few.

Felicia is passionate about music as a vehicle for social change and formed the SU Jazz Band as one of the ensembles of the Certificate Programme. The Certificate Programme is the pre-undergraduate programme of the SU Music Department which was created to equip members of the broader community with skills to read music and play an instrument at a level enabling them to embark on a BMus or Diploma programme at tertiary level.

Please keep in mind that for all live events current restrictions allow for 100 audience members in the Endler Hall and all safety protocols outlined by the University will be strictly followed. The safety of our students, staff and patrons is our first priority.
