The Endler Concert Series is proud to present rising stars Dylan Tabisher and Cherilee Adams in a concert entitled “Cross of Cultures”. Both Dylan and Cherilee graduated MMus (cum laude) from Stellenbosch University and have since established themselves as soloist and ensemble members both nationally and internationally.

On two marimbas they will present the unique soundscapes of different world cultures beginning in Japan, with the works of Keiko Abe, deeply inspired by nature. From there they will explore music and rhythms from Africa, the home of the marimba, performing arrangements of traditional African songs as well as an exploration of African drumming. Included in the programme is a composition by Keith Tabisher, Dylan’s father, entitled ‘Prayer for Healing.’ The duo then journeys to the Balkans and Middle East with works written by Nebosja Zivkovic and Adi Morag and their final destination will be South America with two Tangos written by Astor Piazzolla.

Tickets for R120 (regular) and R80 (students and pensioners) are available now through Computicket and at the door. For more information contact Fiona Grayer at concerts@sun.ac.za or 021 808 2358.
